Born in Lisbon, May 1982. Lives and works between Costa da Caparica and Sintra, Portugal

Formal Education:

2007/2008: 9 months professional traineeship in stone sculpture at the International Sculpture Center in Sintra, Portugal.

  • · Principal subjects: The different rocks and use of tools, machines and equipments. The several steps in stone transformation: selection of the raw material, cutting and separate stone blocks, modelling technics, textures and finishing treatments. Transport of sculptures.
  • · Participation as a sculpture assistant:

Sintra Arte Pública 2008”/Public sculptures in Sintra. Global Stone Workshop Portugal”. 7 sóis 7 luas” Exhibition of Public sculptures and stone workshop in Castro Verde.

2007: Plastic Arts Graduation in Sculpture, at Évora’s University, Portugal.

Work Experience:

2006/2007: Tour Guide in Art Exhibitions and monitor in the educative service. Group guiding and didatic activities for school groups: Pinhole phography, painting and drawing workshops. At Forum Eugénio de Almeida in Évora, Portugal.

2006: Collaborator student during the AIAS (International Association of Independent Art and Design Schools) Exhibition in Évora, Portugal.

2005/06: Tour guide monitor for school groups in the exhibition “Às portas do mundo”. Exhibition about the plurality of cultures and contemporary art around the Portuguese language, with artists from: East Timor, Guinea-Bissau, Cape Verde Islands, S.Tomé and Príncipe, Angola, Mozambique, Brazil, Portugal. At D.Manuel’s Palace, in Évora, Portugal.

2005/2006/2007: Collaboration as a drum player (snare drum) in the music, percussion and street animation group“Gigabombos do Imaginário”, itinerant musical band with portuguese traditional thematics and instruments, Évora, Portugal.
